I don't know if its true, but a pal of mine's dad was in the Socialist/Labour movement in Lochee with him and said he took all the kitty money and fucked off to London on the lash with it when he was 18/19. My pal's dad despite having similar politics (or did) has always hated him ; so could be an element of truth in it.

I always enjoyed his shows on talkRADIO. Some of it interesting, some of it hilarious - both for the wrong/right reasons and he usually had some good guests often on the other side to him and they would have civil discussion.
