As Steve Hunt noted in last years thread, the UK will select their entrant for Kiev on Friday beginning at 7.30pm on BBC2. Here be the contestants, not a great line up: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-38718362

Dates for your diaries for the greatest televisual event of the year:

Semi-final 1 - 9 May 2017
Semi-final 2 - 11 May 2017
Final - 13 May 2017

It's gonna be great, it's always great. It's gonna be epic, it's always epic.

You seem surprised.

I'm like Stevie Hunt at the beginning of every season about the UK at Eurovision, Bas. Full of hope but knowing we will be shite. That said, haven't listened to the songs yet. Saving myself till Friday. :)

The first post-Brexit Eurovision. Be watching the voting with interest.

Think you said similar about Pre-Brexit votes for UK last year, AB. Wee Joe and Jake got 24/26. Can't see post-Brexit votes this time making any difference.

The only difference will be a great song, Like Gina G or dear Daz Sampson. Will see Friday. But we can't even guarantee decent points from Cyprus, Malta and that place across the Irish Sea now. :(

How much support did we give Dustin, Deise? And nothing back. :(

How will Brexit affect Eurovision? It's one of the greatest socio-political thesis I never wrote. I guess there's still time. It'll be facsinating. Carlos, run a sweepstake nearer the time. And it's in Russia? Holy cow. This years event will be one for the ages. Just a shame Terry won't be here. For Terry.

Ha I was listening to one of my Dustin albums the other day. "Where do you go to (you're ugly)" is better than the original donchuworryboutthat 8)

If it's any consolation the change in the voting structure was a team dent to our national pride.. "wait you mean we are NOT beloved across Europe??!!"

I think it's more that the Brits are not liked and no one gives a fuck about us.

But we'll have one hell of a party...

The half bricks have never given us douze points. I doubt theyve ever given us as much as deux points.

There is some sort of myth that we had a north atlantic bloc type thingy, 'cos we always pile in giving the ungrateful wretches everything but our first born and the Crown Jewels.
I'm not sure how that came about. Probably through wishful thinking and respect for the late Sir Wig.

Looking forward to it as always.

What's the latest on Alf Stewart Island? They were originally invited as guests and then deemed such a success invited again.

I can't think of a prouder moment in the potential future than seeing Jockland represent by The Alexnader Brothers featuring Loki The Rapper with 0 pts and semi-final crashing out of highest proportions.

Kev, should wee Nicola ever successfully gain your fair isle independence, only one group should ever represent Scotland in Eurovision.

These magnificent chaps:

Your lot don't get a say in the voting surely? ;)

First song from a ditzy blonde, Holly. Big ballad, not for me, Beeky.

Audience and panel liked it, wtf is that Bruno cunt from Strictly doing? 5.5/10.

Danyl next. Some shite that never goes anywhere. Definitely last if it won. 4.5/10.

Lucie Jones. I Remember her, big voice, big ballad, again not for me. 5.5/10.

Olivia, sassy in silver goes a bit more uptempo. Decent but could be so much better. 6/10.

Nate hitting some high notes in another fucking ballad. 5/10.

Salena last. Uptempo, Decent beat, but again could have been so much better. 6/10.

Happy with Olivia or Salena as with a bit of tinkering could be decent songs.
