Re: Cycling
I’m going for a cycle around Rutland water today. My first time here. Thought I’d make the most of our last summer day

Yes. A pint of thatchers haze too. I could get into cycling . I can see the appeal . I just feel a bit sore when I sit down.

Re: Cycling
If strictly a casual rider, leader, probably a hybrid IMO as good for general use and can also do a bit of off road and trails, not proper mountain biking though.
If solely cycling on roads and want to get more serious then a road bike, but i wouldn't. Got a Cannondale Quick 5 hybrid that is great, though the rim brake version not disc brake as here:
Good time to buy as end of the year sales soon as new bikes out. You don't have to spend loads, depends on what you can spare, but go to a good bike shop and talk to them, bike shop people are friendly and always good to have them there if things fuck up.

Now no more than 5 miles before achilles start playing up. I ruined them training when injured. Don't ever run if you have the slightest niggle, guys. You will pay for it in the long run.
Tried cycling?
Yes mate, that's what I do now.
I'm heavily into road cycling, I average around 150 - 200 miles a week.
Achilles are fine cycling
Do you find you don't have enough bikes? It's huge problem for me.

You can never have enough bikes, vespa
I have a Cannondale bike I use in the winter, a Specialized Venge summer & racing bike & a few older bikes, plus an Evans bike on a turbo trainer.
With the Venge, I've upgraded everything I can to carbon. I could probably make another half decent bike out of the discarded bits.
What about you? What do you ride & how keen are you?

I've got a specialized tri, whyte mtb and cannondale cyclocross for commuting. I'm toying with getting an ebike at the moment because climbing up trials isn't as fun as going down them.

I think it comes down to ego - 'the older I get, the better I was' problem.
I just like being out and about, slowing down means I'm out and about longer.

I've had many chats with 'Iron Man', Mr Steve Hunt. And I like you have a Cannondale.Vespa wrote:Steve Hunt wrote: What about you? What do you ride & how keen are you?

I just like cycling so don't post everything or anything to Strava
Watch them go cycle porn.
