It's odd that a broadcaster doesn't know the meaning of the word 'literally'.

DB’s usage of “literally” is actually considered to be appropriate usage today.
e.g. In the recent past, I would have had to say that you are figuratively talking out of your arse.
Nowadays, it is perfectly acceptable to say that you are literally talking out of your arse.

In today's social media world it is apparently each individual's responsibility to be conscious of everyone's sensibilities, lest they be convicted of thought crimes. There is always a queue ready to harangue precisely how your jokes, thoughts, dress sense or whatever else are culturally insensitive. It's not enough to admit making a mistake, explain your alternative context and remove the offending item. Once offence has been taken it is irrevocable. When the fuck did this become normal? I can't recall ever living in a state of being offended,for even a moment.

Ring the OB up and make an 'accusation' of your house being burgled or car being nicked and you'll be lucky to get a visit within a fortnight. Get on the blower to complain about a nothing incident on twitter that had the square root of fuck all to do with you and "specialist officers" are mobilised immediately.
