I need your help again chaps.
I had AVG free. Malwarebytes free and ZoneAlarm free on my PC (Windows 10 64 bit) for ages. (Didn't use Defender) I started to get slow response and some blue screen crashes, and after trying most other things like reinstalling drivers, I uninstalled ZoneAlarm and switched Defender on. It's been flying since and now takes 15 secs to shutdown instead of a couple of minutes.
I heard that Total AV was good, so ditched Malwarebytes and stuck that on instead, but I'm not clear what I actually need for best all round protection.
1. Is Windows Defender adeqaute firewall protection? If not any suggestions?
2. Do I need AVG free and Total AV free, or can I ditch AVG?
Cheers?

Do you really need AV Zambo
are you clicking on anything or downloading anything that would invite trouble?
If all you're doing on the web is looking at talkFORUM and watching Netflix, not installing a billion fucking 'toolbars' for shite sources and you're following common sense when opening e-mails i.e. don't open attachments from people you don't know then you probably don't need AV or firewall software. Windows 10 inbuilt should suffice.
If on the other hand you're opening e-mails from Nigerian Princes with BigJugsTeen.exe attachments and looking for hot local girls in your area type website then yeah, you probably should disinfect your PC with detol.

Re: Firewall, anti-virus, malware, ransomware and all that shit
Got shot of everything, it was clogging up the PC. AVG, ZoneAlarm, Malwarbytes all gone and zipping. Quick boot up and shutdown. Windows Defender and installed Total AV which had excellent write ups.
Only one problem, and that is I have a Windows Update which keeps popping up and saying it is installed every day, but it doesn't appear on installed list.
KB4023057
Is there any way I can stop it appearing?

From your Start menu, go to Windows System, Control Panel, Programs. You will see KB4023057 listed as a program. Uninstall it from there.
Then go back to Windows Update and push the button to check for updates, and it will update to install the 2018-11 version. Now it says my Windows 10 is up to date and no more updates are needed.
