The fact that Sam Matterface is so shit, in my opinion anyway, it got me thinking about who the best commentators of any sport you've ever heard are. It doesn't need to be a regular commentator, it might just be a one off. I haven't thought deeply about this, but off the top of my head:

Sid Waddell.
David Colman.
Barry Davies.
Reg Gutteridge.

Those four for me defined moments in my sporting life as a viewer.
