Looks like the Ecuador are finally growing some and preparing to kick Assange out of their embassy.
Who are those twats keeping vigil outside?

Started off with good intentions but Julian Assange allowed Wikileaks to become a tool of the Russian state. Doing the bidding of oppresive dictatorships is exactly the opposite of what Wikileaks was supposed to be about.

I'm not 100% up on the law but if the Embassy is clearly unhappy and the Ambassador is up in arms, surely our Government could then go to the Ecuador Government and ask for permission to go in and arrest him?

They can just ask him to leave and the police will nick him outside.

|But technically we can't get their permission to go in and end this for once and all? Sorry if that's stupid of me.

Embassies are tiny islands of sovereign territory so all we can do is ask. The UK (rightly) respects international law. The onus is on the Ecuadoreans to do the right thing.
Ironically if he got on the wrong side of Putin and tried the same thing in Russia he would have been jailed or dead within days. That’s the difference between a democracy that respects the rule of law and a mafia state.

The Ecuadoreans are protecting him for now.

Ah sorry then. I just assumed there'd be nothing stopping us if the Ecuador Government said to us we could go in to get him.Sorry for being stupid in this regard.

The embassy could ask the Met. to remove him if he doesn't want to leave. I'm sure they'd rather nick inside the place than on the street outside with all the halfwits making a fuss.

Not sure that's true.
Legally the embassy is their territory, which would leave the police without the power of arrest, I think

If they asked the police to remove him they'd they'd be fine.
