Pls help.
Having used Apple for over several years, I might change to Microsoft. I find Microsoft more intuitive.
My MacBook is a trooper, though. Sturdy. So many current designs - both Apple and Microsoft - seem to be made cheaply, thus break or die after a couple of years.
Anyway, recommendations would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks!

If you only use a browser get a Chromebook.
If you want a windows laptop the Dell XPS 13 is very very good.

Steer clear of Acer, they're cheap but poorly built. HP are a bit naff as well.
Last 2 I've bought were Lenovo and they offer best balance of performance and value for money.
Make sure you get one with an SSD hard drive, decent processor and RAM.
Dell machines are more expensive but most come with a better battery life.
Happy hunting!

Windows, another pane in the glass. Fucking dreadful.

Not sure why you'd want to switch back to Microsoft unless there's a specific bit of software you can't get on Apple?
Apple head and shoulders above Microsoft in terms of software and build quality.
Get yourself a new MacBook Pro
Sorted for the next 5 - 7 years.

Microsoft more intuitive, since when?
Agree with getting a Macbook pro, I use both generally hate using win 10 if I can help it. If you're just using a laptop for browsing, email and watching vids/films and you don't need huge portable storage that a cloud account couldn't support you might get away with a decent tablet, Mac or PC tbh. I just bought a refurbed Surface Pro tablet for three hundred or so because I wanted stylus use, limited storage and once I got rid or lots of Microturd software it's actually alright. Not a patch on an ipad pro but a third the cost so ok for kids.

Re: Next laptop
Thanks for all the advice. I might buy a new MacBook Pro. If the latest models are anything like my current one (circa 2012), it should last several years.

Not sure what you want to 'do' with you laptop ... but unless you are editing your latest Hollywood blockbuster or playing Call Of Duty, I'd suggest the most expensive Chromebook you can buy. Windows does my fucking head in. The good thing about a Cromebook is that you can open the lid and off-you-go. It's also good to wear pretentious glasses and sit in the window of a coffee-shop looking as if you are the next Hemmingway. If that's your kind of thing (obviously without the barrel of a shotgun in your mouth).
