The incumbent government has been waging a "war on woke" for quite a few years now. They've made a raft of statements and pledges of this sort of nature.

We've seen them posture foolishly from things like the rwanda bill to the Northern ireland protocol and threatening to end the TV licence fee. How is this any different?

With a general election looming large and their current performances at the ballot box being grim, the tories are only going to ramp up the rhetoric rather than tone it down.
